For the South Florida resident, there were times where he couldn’t afford to pay his monthly bills. Espanol, a UPS driver now, has a good job, but those missed payments before prevented him from getting any credit, no credit cards, no loans. “I couldn’t pay for my credit cards and just stopped paying for everything at once,” said Espanol. Thousands across South Florida are now in the same boat as Espanol, due to foreclosures, short sales, and the loss of jobs. To be able to get credit healthy, you need to understand the formula,” said Karwowski. She said Espanol’s credit score was down in the low 500′s but she was still able to get him a credit card without a credit check. “It wasn’t really too hard to get the credit card. You go online, fill out the information, they call you back to confirm everything and within two weeks, I got the card in the mail. It was simple,” explained Espanol.
